The modern day hook-up as experienced in the impersonal social age of online dating, where two people come together under a guise of each other's online personas and where anonymity meets real life. Based on exploration as much as trial and error, Straight's autobiographical 'recount' of her experiences eventually lead to a fundamental desire for true companionship in relationship.
The beauty of ATWF is in Kelsey Straight’s ability to be vulnerable while exploring the something so socially quieted. It’s odd how we all participate in the wrong discussion about sex and health. ATWF isn’t afraid to do this. At times you’ll want to take a shower, at other’s you’ll get the munchies. Mostly though it’s honest. A great read!
This book has it all...the guilty pleasure page turner found only in a 50 Shades-esque hormonal sex binge of a novel but with the literary intent and prowess of a young (and female) Salinger. Such an emotional and honest look at the self and sex—incredibly refreshing and captivating. Even if you don't understand her world, it's hard not to find yourself caught up in. Trainwreck and truth, this is book the ultimate gut-wrenching pleasure pain, leaving more than just your heart pounding.
